NGIS: THE NEXT GENERATION

We’re excited to announce this year’s NGIS Symposium, hosted at the University of Nevada, Reno on November 18, 2026, centered around our theme: "NGIS: The Next Generation".

This theme celebrates both the future of geospatial technology and the people shaping it. “Next generation” is not just about those new to the field. It reflects the continued evolution of GIS through fresh ideas, emerging tools, and the deep expertise that has built our community.

At its core, NGIS has always been about connection. Connections between disciplines, technologies, and professionals at every stage of their careers. This year’s symposium will highlight how innovation in GIS grows from that collaboration, where experience meets new perspectives and where today’s leaders help inspire tomorrow’s.

As we gather on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno, we are especially excited to welcome and engage GIS students, whose curiosity, creativity, and perspectives are essential to the future of the field. Preconference training will also be offered on November 17, 2026. More details to be announced soon.
