Call for Presentations


GIS is a tool for some and a profession for others. Show others how you use those tools or demonstrate exciting aspects of your profession by becoming a presenter at this year's NGIS Conference in Reno. Presentation proposals are now being accepted from anyone who uses GIS for the NGIS 2018 Conference.

Presentation Formats

  • Individual -- (20 to 25 minutes)

  • Symposium -- minimum of three members. (30 minutes)

  • Lightning Talks -- quick, from-the-floor comments. (5 minutes)

  • Panel Member -- informal discussions as a member of one of the panels listed below; a brief show and tell where you answer questions from the audience. (5 to 10 minutes)

Please Note!

  • Allow time for questions and change of speaker(s) during your presentation.
  • Marketing and sales presentations are allowed only in designated vendor tracks.
  • All presenters must be registered at regular conference rates by September 17, 2018.

Submitting Your Proposal


A completed presentation proposal form must be submitted to papers@ngis.org by September 14, 2018.


One computer laptop will be available in each presentation room, along with a projector and screen. The laptops will be equipped with Microsoft Office and internet access. Please specify any additional needs you may have and NGIS will do its best to accommodate the request. It is strongly recommended that you bring your presentation on portable media such as a USB drive. Presenters are responsible for bringing whatever type of video cable adaptor is necessary in order to use the provided projectors, including HDMI adaptors.


Acceptance notices will be emailed by September 21, 2018.
