Call For Posters

Now accepting poster submissions for NGIS 2025!

Poster Session Overview

The Nevada Geographic Information Society invites you to participate in the 30th NGIS Conference Poster Session in Las Vegas, NV.

This year, in addition to traditional hardcopy poster submissions, we welcome digital products, such as web applications, story maps, and online maps.

For digital products, please submit a URL link and a screenshot of your product. The screenshot will be printed by NGIS prior to the conference with a QR code.

All participants must fill out the Poster Submission Form (see link to form below) and send the completed form to posters@ngis.org.

Submissions will be judged by three categories: Geospatial Analysis, Creativity, and Innovation. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category for professional submissions, while student submissions will be judged to 1st and 2nd place.

In addition, those in attendance will be able to cast their vote for the "People's Choice" indicating the most popular product of those in attendance.

Poster Categories

Geospatial Analysis

The progression from raw data to the completion of a GIS project involves gathering, manipulation, analysis, and display of geographic data. We’re excited to see the unique evolution of your geospatial journey.

Creativity

Convey your geographic message aesthetically through graphics, artwork, and cartography. The possibilities are endless, whether creatively presenting your data or clever cartography. Use your imagination!

Innovation

Show us your cutting-edge use of the infinite variety of new tools and techniques available to GIS professionals. Innovative analysis tools and digital products improve upon and frequently transcend traditional 2D map products.

Guidelines

Printed posters can be submitted up until the first day of the conference. Hardcopy maps for display must be no larger than 48"x48" and be brought to the conference to be displayed. Digital posters should be emailed for QR code generation. Online (URL) submissions must be publicly accessible. You MUST be attending the conference to be eligible for poster judging.

Digital Product Submissions

A simple export of the map or a screen snapshot in a common graphics format is desired (i.e., JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PDF). Only those posters submitted by Monday, April 21, will be included as part of the electronic display, and listed within the conference program.

For questions or comments about the Poster Session, send an email to posters@ngis.org.

Please submit as early as possible. We look forward to seeing you and the results of your efforts this past year.
